Why N.E.A.T?

Summer is a perfect season for walking. New Torontonians are curious about their city and walking is the most healthy and inexpensive way to explore new places. But where to go and how can they learn more about the culture and history while enjoying the walking? Many of the newcomers found “Toronto Doors Open” an intriguing event, but it only happens once a year. On the other hand, for Torontonians who were born here and have lived here for generations, Toronto is a city full of flavour with ever-changing faces. Every little street has an interesting story and every old building has witnessed a period of extraordinary history. Proud Torontonians are eager to share their contagious feeling about the city. Well, here we go, why don’t we take a stroll together through parts of the beautiful city.

Who can participate?

Any newcomers who live in Toronto are welcome to join us.

We need volunteers who could act as our unofficial “Tour Guide”. If you know one or a few areas in GTA very well and are willing to show your leadership and hospitality, please contact Elizabeth at 416-588-6288.

Is there a fee?

No, this is a free activity for all volunteers and newcomers. While quantity lasts, you can get a nice NEAT walking T-shirt for free, sometimes other free walking gadgets. If a chosen walking place charges admission, we usually would try to obtain free tickets thanks to corporations’ generosity. However, participants need to cover their own transportation, food and drink cost.
